Lizzano in Belvedere
Corno alle Scale

In the extreme southern part of the province of Bologna, bordering Pistoia and Modena is the massif of Corno alle Scale of Lizzano in Belvedere.

At 1945 meters high it is the highest peak of the Bolognese Apennines. Its rocky cliffs are a natural environment of rare beauty and integrity, which provide shelter to a variety of precious botanical species.

Corno alle Scale is definitely worth a visit in any season: in winter, for those who love speed and fun, there are a variety of slopes/pistes for all levels.

The renowned ski area has also in recent years been the training venue for Alberto Tomba, the Bolognese world champion.

It was also here that he started his career and where two ski runs are named in his honour. For those who want to savor different emotions there are also cross-country tracks and a modern snow park, where you can enjoy the excitement and thrills of snow boarding.

In spring, the area is transformed into an outdoor gym where there are dedicated hiking and mountain biking tracks. Or just walk along the ridge and discover the many emerging botanical species present in this area and take in the beautiful panorama of the Apennines and the Apuan Alps.
