Giorgio Morandi, one of the greatest Italian painters of the twentieth century, was only 23 years old when he set foot in Grizzana.
In the subsequent years this mountain capital became his habitual holiday residence and thus the landscapes of the Bologna Apennines became the privileged subject matter of his paintings.
Amongst his works one of the most represented and researched were the Barns of Campiaro.
