A small Romanesque jewel in the Valley of Samoggia, which was the birthplace of Pope Honorius II.
The Church of Saint Mary Assunta of Fagnano, is of medieval origin and was remodelled several times especially in the XVI and XIX centuries.
On one side of the church there is a plaque in memory of Pope Honorius II (1124 – 1130), born Lamberto Fagnani and who some thought was born in this town.
The larger complex that is dated to the twelfth century preserves a pre-Romanesque bell tower.
Romanesque details can also be noted in some surviving structures of the cloister, consisting of brick arches supported by low pillars of stone masonry.
